My bio and Politics
My biology began 3 months ago when I decided to change my field from physics to biology. I have been in Europe for 2.5 years and since I arrived I have been trying to get a PhD position in physics which was my original field but because of political situations (EU and UN resolutions about Iran) whenever I jointed to institutes or tried to get a position in universities I was told that Iranian are banded to study or work in the field of physics. I am not politician or interested in politics but I suffered a lot because of it. I always believe that science should be free of politics. I was quite disappointed since February this year when I decided to shift my field to biology. Now I am studding development of microscopy techniques and quantification of biological images from tissues or cells. At the first it was a bit exotic field but after sometime I found it very interesting. I think it is a window to another world. Beautiful and colorful pictures from living system can be interesting for all. Also it is a tool to solve problems and help science. Main message is there are always ways to help and no one can stop you from doing it if you be patient and diligent. This is just starting my story probably I will let you know after some years if sigma organize another competitions.

We all know that there are some double standards around us. If studding in physics is good it should be good for every one.
But another thing is if your country is part of the UN, it should take its responsibility. I am not saying all terms in the sanctions are OK which banding ordinary student from studding is shameful. I do not like Iran’s regime especially current president MA and his speeches. After last presidential election majority of people in other countries have understood that Iranian people are different than Iranian regime and they deserve better position in the world. Also I have some friends from your country and they are really kind and nice.
Any way I am really sorry for what had happened to you and good luck with your new field. -

What I would like to show here is that there are lots of unfair things happening about Iranian students. Why ordinary student must pay about political decision which they have no role on it. I really thank sigma for providing this media where I can use to announce it. What is interesting that I am still in contact with all my 3 formal supervisors and they also hate this sanction about student but they could do noting because unfortunately politicians make decisions even about science.

I respect to ban for Iranian to study in such critical field of science that may put human life in danger .I am an Iranian and in my point of view you and me must respect to these bans . we better fix our problems in our country then ask other nationalities for more freedom and help. this is our issue not them .
Iranian government wont let a simple European reporter to take photo from people peaceful rally in TEHRAN ! then their spy reporters run freely in European countries and make report against Europe and USA and Iranian oppositions !!! -

I do respect human rights and I am against any kind of violence giants human being but in such democratic and free world I am against any kind of prejudice about Iranians. But what I would like to stress that there may be a few Iranian who are bad nevertheless not all people in other countries are good that is why there ordinary people and students have to be separated from those people who should be included in bands. I think that it is a bit late to bands Iranian from studying physics because Iran already has got the necessary knowledge. What is even worst is that because in these sanctions there is no exception every one is using this role in their own way and banding all Iranian students from any field of physics. It is may be interesting that in the last time I was doing nanophysics which had noting with nuclear science but I got fired because in another building of my institute- where I have never been there- was some experiment in plasma physics. I have been working for almost 6 months and supervisor knew me very well but he could not do any thing!!!
